HISTORY
Liquor store, rubber shop, dentist, flea market, art gallery, home. The functional style building in the center of Sastamala, designed by Hannes Ylinen, has its roots in 1938. Over the decades, life has been heard, seen and felt in the house on this bus street that it lies.

Extensive and comprehensive repairs began in 2016. Efforts have been made to restore and preserve the old as much as possible. The features of the building have been carefully emphasized while bringing its functionalities to the present day. The upstairs Music Hall is open and high and features the Shigeru Kawai grand piano. The Music Hall can accommodate about 100 people and also offers the opportunity to hold various meetings and events.

In the summer of 2022, the art of artist Riitta Nelimarkka will be on display at Funkkistalo.

ACCESSIBILITY
The Funkkistalo has an elevator that gives access to each of the three floors of the house.
A ramp also leads to the house for easy wheelchair access.
In the immediate vicinity of the entrance on near Marttilankatu 16, there is a spacious toilet for the disabled.
All thresholds are less than a centimeter high.
